Ren attended both Weber State College and the University of Utah in Ogden and Salt Lake City, Utah respectively majoring in engineering and mathematics. From 1964 until to 1975
Ren was employed by the Amalgamated Sugar Company starting as a draftsman and rising to technical services engineer supervising the design and installation of bulk and liquid sugar handling facilities. In 1975,
Ren joined the Salt Lake City consulting firm Engineering Consortium in 1975 and worked in all phases of engineering consulting including surveying, mapping, and land development services.
Ren continued with Engineering Consortium until accepting a position as project manager with Western Design Consultants in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1977.
Ren worked with Western Design until founding JHR Development, Inc. in 1982, rising to the position of Director of Land Development and Assistant to the President.
Ren has been the President of JHR Development, Inc., now for the past 26 years
Ren is responsible for the daily administration and management of the overall operations of the company including client relations, contract negotiations, project budgets, and administration. He has an extensive background in project administration and management through his involvement in what is approaching one-thousand projects in the last forty-four years in the industry.

Reese graduated from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering in 1979. This is after serving six years in the U.S. Navy nuclear power program with duty stations across the United States.
Reese started his engineering career in 1979 with Western Design Consultants where he met Ren and subsequently started JHR development in 1982. With Western Design Consultants,
Reese primarily worked in the sewer collection and treatment area as Western Design served as the district engineer for the Park City, Utah, sewer district. He also gained experience with private development working on projects in Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming.
Reese has been the principal engineer for since 1982 and has completed numerous projects in Utah and Nevada in the last 24 years primarily in residential and commercial private development.
Reese is responsible for civil engineering activities performed by and in the last 24 years has sealed and submitted in excess of 800 projects to applicable governing entities in a number of cities in Utah and Nevada.
